Wednesday, April 04, 2001 – 11:24 pm I believe the author of “The Threat: Inside the Soviet Military Machine” is Andrew Cockburn. I haven’t read it yet but I’ve seen it off and on over the years. Its been around since 1983. You can probably buy it for less than a dollar these days at a used book store. I look forward to viewing it, for I enjoy a good debate. I just received David C. Isby’s Tactics of the Soviet Army yesterday and what a treat to read! What an intoxicating book, even if its a little technical at times.

“IceBreaker: Who started the Second World War?” is probably Suvorov’s (whose real name is Vladimir Rezun) most controversial work. I hope to get it one day soon. Icebreaker, however, has attracted a firestorm of criticism, so there are plenty of reviews available online.
